People assume a lot of things about other people and it is because of this prejudice that problems arise while communicating with people from different cities. This holds true for the women of Delhi as there are many people who have developed a wrong image of them in their mind. The most common assumptions are that they are all about money, alcohol and cuss words. But that is just not true. 1. They are All About Materialism
This is a fairly wrong assumption, but it is often backed by solid evidence. A lot of people who have stayed in Delhi have witnessed women fighting for good stuff like televisions, cars, air conditioners, jewellery and houses. This makes the other person think that all they care about is how rich they look in the society. But, this is not the case. Everyone wants great things for themselves, and Delhi women are no different as well. If they wish to live a luxurious life, and they have the resources, then they have every right to use these resources for their own comfort. You would have done the same, given you had the same resources as them.
2. They are Always Up for Social Gatherings
Well, again, this is true for a lot of Delhi girls. But times are changing, and now most of the girls do not want to partake in any social gatherings because of the complexities that follow these social events. A lot of girls avoid going to social gatherings because they get asked questions that they do not feel comfortable answering. And most of the time these questions are either about when they are getting married or having kids. Also, not all of them are extroverted and outgoing. Some of them are introverted and like to spend their time in their own company.
3. They are Less Career Oriented
This was never the case. Women of Delhi have made the tides turn in the modern world with their contribution to the different sectors of economy. They can be seen taking up significant jobs in medical, technological, legal and administrative services to bring a change to the society. It will not just be wrong but a crime to assume that all they care about is who their husband or boyfriend is hanging around with! No! They are more than that, and this needs no proof.
4. They Cuss a Lot?
Cuss words have kind of become a major part of Delhi culture. It is often said that you are not a true Delhite if you do not cuss out of frustration, happiness or pure rage. But is it really true that Delhi girls cuss a lot? Well, a lot of them do. But that is not it. They cuss only when the push comes to shove. They cuss only when they have figured that the other person does not want to understand things in a polite manner. And besides, cussing is not a major crime. People cuss all the time, and it is not just Delhi girls who cuss. You will come across a lot of girls belonging to the other parts of the country who have no problem in cussing.

5. They Party, Drink and Drive Recklessly
It will be wrong to say that they do not party, drink and drive. But recklessness is something which is highly subjective to a lot of factors. People get reckless when they are tense, drunk or filled with outrageous levels of stupidity. If a Delhi girl or even a normal person is going through all of this, then it is highly likely that they will behave recklessly. Partying and drinking is actually a part of the society that we live in, and it is fairly normal to party and drink. But to assume that only Delhi girls do it a lot, is kind of wrong.
6. They are Highly Dramatic
Again, some of them do behave like a drama queen all the time. But most of the time, they understand what the other person is going through and behave appropriately.
7. They Spend a Lot of Money on Useless Things
This is highly subjective. Something that is deemed useless by you, may not seem useless to the other person. And hence it is unfair to say that they spend money on useless things.

8. They Focus More on Fashion Than on Their Careers
Not really. It is a good thing to carry yourself properly while you are out there changing the world.
It is evident that the women of Delhi have a lot to them than just some random assumptions which are extremely wrong. It is true that these assumptions may hold for some girls, but on the other hand, they are most likely to get dismissed for a majority of Delhi girls.
